There’s no better feeling than working with bars you already love sipping drinks at. Miss Margarita serves some of the best cocktails in Delhi, and I was very excited when I learnt about a new spot opening in Goa. After the resounding success of Miss Margarita in New Delhi, they wanted to spread its beautiful blend of authentic & traditional Mexican flavours to Goa—the brand-new Mexican Grill & Tequila bar is located in Vagator, on Vagator beach road.
The restaurant’s trendsetting style & décor has been exclusively designed by renowned Interior Designer Amith Chhabra of “Studio LCD” fame. Boasting a playful and colourful vibe spread over 6000 square feet with an expansive outdoor & indoor space; it will surely transport you to a vibrant beach town in Mexico, where bliss and euphoria go hand in hand.
I particularly love the hand-painted wall art and the tiles symbolising Aztec/Mayan characteristics against a vibrant palette of tangerine, coral, aqua and cobalt that creates a warm and inviting ambience.
Working with Noah Louis Barnes, Chef Partner at the restaurant, I figured that they intended to stay true to the Mexican theme with the music curation and the energy at the restaurant. When playing music genres like Maraichi, strings, trumpets, and vocals must come out distinctly without getting overwhelming. Noah emphasised keeping the space lively and letting the sound flow naturally rather than the sound being loud and intrusive.
We deployed the R Series from Community Professional and spread it evenly across the outdoor space. Thanks to its size, coverage and performance capabilities, we managed to cover the area in 4 units of R.35, which has a 10” Coax driver. The sub-department was handled by a strategically placed Dual 12” V series sub from Community Professional which nicely blended in the mix and pushed out substantial low end. For the indoor space, we used the OVO series from Biamp and managed the zone controls on Powersoft’s web interface, thanks to Armonia Prosuite from Powersoft.
We recommend sitting at the bar for the sweet spot; it sounds even nicer with a bloody mary margarita.
